Overwhelm - Don't Choose It

This all feels so overwhelming — anxiety, fear, stress, the unknown — it feels like too much some times. If you are like me, you are feeling powerless to control anything. It’s a lot to deal with.


And still, we get to choose. We don’t get to choose the season we are in but we do get to choose how we will show up in this season. I know you want to stay in bed, in your pajamas, pull the covers up over your head. Right there in the bed, you get to choose how you will show up today.


Choose between hope or despair, action or paralysis, bravery or fear, encouragement of desperation -- you get to choose.


It’s difficult to see it as a choice. I get it. And yet, if it’s not a choice, who forced it on you? Who decided you’d stay in bed? Who decided you wouldn’t set a schedule for this weird time? Who decided you’d panic?


If it is that simple — a choice — how do you choose to show up as resilient, focused, capable?
